As a child I struggled with constant digestive issues, always being sick and many food intolerances. Like many, I just thought it was normal. My health journey truly began when I was playing collegiate sports. I was unhappy with my performance and how I was feeling daily. I struggled with asthma, acne, bloating and I gained weight my first few years despite working out 2-4 hours a day. I was unsatisfied with the advice I was receiving from coaches and our team nutritionist.

 I decided that I wanted to change my diet and start to eat more healthfully. Once I started focusing on nourishing my body with whole foods and changing my lifestyle, the results were astounding.

When I changed my diet, I changed my life.

I never had another asthma attack

My acne and bloating were gone

I was able to find my body’s weight homeostasis where I felt right

 my performance improved drastically in sports and in school.

After finishing my undergraduate degree in psychology, I decided to pursue a master’s degree in integrative nutrition at Maryland University of Integrative Health. I clearly saw the connection between the mental and physical in the body and knew psychology would be a great foundation for this pursuit. Little did I know how much the two were connected. After contracting parasites overseas, leading to a host of imbalances and inflammation in my gut microbiome resulting in anxiety, panic attacks and a host of other symptoms. I experienced this first hand. Through stool testing, herbals, nutrition and nervous system regulation, I was able to completely heal my gut and become myself again. 

This experience showed me just how much gut health can affect the rest of our body, our mental health and the trajectory of our lives.

My dream is human optimization, using nutrition foundations and gut resilience  to make YOU the best version of yourself!
